Sergey Brin, one of the co-founders of Google, has an impressive educational background. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in mathematics and computer science from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master of Science degree in computer science from Stanford University.
While at Stanford, Brin met Larry Page, and the two worked together on developing the search engine that would eventually become Google. They earned a Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford, with Brin's research focused on data mining and Page on the World Wide Web. However, they dropped out of their Ph.D. program to focus on their company, Google.
